As I am embracing adulthood, I find myself understanding my mom a little better. I have 4 younger sisters I take care of when my mom isn't around. It hurts when they don't listen to me. It hurts even more when they talk back. I would usually stand my ground, be tough and strict to the things I don't agree them doing.
"You are not going out, it's late. No means no. End of discussion."
My sister will get upset, yell back at me, then storm off angrily to her room. Then I will go back to my room and cry silently. Truth, I am such a sappy sister, I just couldn't help it. I put on this tough face in front of them and create this hard shell exterior but inside, I cry like a baby. It's painful when this happens. And I'm just the big sister. I can imagine it must be thousand times more painful when it is your children. My mom raised 6 children and I now know that is no piece of cake.
Dear mom, all 6 of us are very sorry for everything we did that made you upset. We're very sorry for those sweats, tears and sleepless nights and especially those wrinkles on your forehead, we know we gave you such a headache growing up. You're the greatest mom we could ever ask for. We're definitely not where we are today if it wasn't for you. We thank God every day for having you in our lives. We may not have all the money in the world and I know that every day may not be a perfect day for you but we promise .. to make you feel happy every day for as long as we live.
