growing up

I rarely go out at night if there wasn't an event or someone's birthday. When I was growing up, my parents found it so difficult to let their girls go out at night so trust me, dinner out every once in a while is like HUGE to me. I rarely get to go out with friends too. I vividly remember my first day out to the cinema with my girl friends - I was 15 bahahahaha my friends have traveled the world at that age.

I was a little scared and at the same time all excited to get to the cinema for the first time, my eyes lit up and went WOAHHHHH THE SCREEN IS SO BIG when I stepped foot into the cinema hall. I swear the kids near me gave me a weird look. Jakun.

Even now at age 25, my mom still reminds me to come home not later than midnight. When I ask Nash out for dinner, he would joke "You can come out? It's past 8." or "this is how the outside looks at night". Very funny.

Even so, I feel like I'm getting very lazy to go out at night now especially weekdays because that's when I need my rest! But sometimes, I make an exception and have dinner out with friends I haven't seen in a while. See how much I love you friends, I sacrifice my rest for you..

I can count with my fingers how many of my friends have grown up with me since school. But, it's okay because you can't force friendship. It doesn't have to be a bad thing. Somewhere along the way, you're bound to lose friends as everyone grows up and matures.

Sure, it's sad thinking how close you used to be and how far apart you are now. But you know it doesn't hurt to just keep in touch. So what if you are not best friends anymore, aren't all religions encourage you to maintain good relationship anyway. Life's too precious to be unhappy.

Believe it or not, friends are not going to be there forever but know that everything happens for a reason. I remember my mom used to advise us to always choose the people we're friend with. Back then, we didn't care we just wanted to be in the cool clicks. I remember my reason was sort of - I am friend with her because she lets me play with her piano. I am friend with her because she has a pool in her house - Lol.

I didn't understand then, I do now.

I have seen people do some really bad stuffs to their friends in the name of having fun. I say get out before it gets worse, well if it's not already.

Let's just say, you may have as many friends as you want, but keep the selected ones dear to your heart, because they are those who stick to you through thick and thin, encouraging you to be a better person.
