My division arranged a dinner party at Regency Hotel, KL last Friday. We got the whole place to ourselves. I reached there at 8pm and dinner was already started since 7pm. Everyone was enjoying the food and having fun taking pictures. People were warming up as the night progress, making conversations, catching up with friends from other department. By the end of the night, people were starting to leave the party to go home to their kids and left the young crowds to continue the night.
Now this is when the party really starts. Crowds starting to request for songs to dance to; which makes me realize how much I hate partying. It's partly because I come from a conservative Malay family but mostly because I'm a grandmother who is rather be sleeping. Haha.
I gotta admit that the view from 2nd floor was breathtaking! You can see KLCC at one side and KL Tower at the other.
Look at everyone in black except me? Well, the theme was black and gold but of course I was the only one coming with a real black & gold dress. Everyone else was in black with a little gold ear-rings or belt.
You come all black. Where's the gold?
Oh here, right ..... here! *pointing at a dot on her dress

Oh there it is. You forgot to bring magnifying glasses tho.
This beautiful friend of mine keep pulling me to join her dancing with the rest and I keep giving excuses hahaha.
" I need to go to the bathroom "
or
" No you go ahead, come let me take your pictures "
The pictures I took of her looked very candid and turned out great. Now that would get her off my neck for awhile.
ONLY for a while. She saw me sitting with Vithya (my colleague) making boring conversations, she just had to come again and pull us both to join the party.
" Oh no, I got a phone call. It's my mom, I gotta take this. Hello mom? " My phone wasn't even ringing.
Ok, I exaggerate the last one. But hey, tips for you, introvert people.
If you are anything like me, here are my tips for you on how to party when you hate partying :-
1. Offer to be your friend's photographer
2. Bring props to keep yourself busy. Eg: smartphones, tablets.
3. Hide in the bathroom
4. Fake a phone call
5. Fake an injury
6. If they still don't buy it, injure your friend
Ok I'm obviously kidding.
What distinguish between Introverts and Extroverts is that introvert avoids large groups of people and feeling more energized by time alone while the extrovert finds energy in interactions with others. Source : Dictionary Definition
Now come on, don't make us sound sad. There's another way to look at it; introverts are so awesomely interesting and exciting that we do not need company of others to keep ourselves entertained. *raise one eyebrow

In all seriousness, we all want to socialize and make new friends but we don't have to fall into the peer pressure to party like everyone else or be someone we're not.
Having mentioned all these, now it wouldn't be as sad to tell you that I leave the party at 11pm. Survived 3 hours!
Read the next line as emotional as you can as if you just survived your mom's bullet train nagging.
Oh God thank you I'm still alive.
