My sister, Syuhada is the kind of person who loves birthday presents. LOVES them! I know, who doesn't? Okay maybe I should be a little bit more clear, she is the kind of person that every year when her birthday is coming up, she'll come to me .. " So....my birthday is next month. What have you bought for me? "
NEXT. MONTH.
-______-
She'll go to my other sisters " Kak, my birthday is in 2 weeks. Don't forget my presents! "
-_______-
She'll go to her friends, " Shall we do the my-birthday-presents-giving-party before school ends? " because her birthday falls on year end school holidays.
-______-
But then again, she gives present when her friend's birthday comes too. Or I can say, she gives it, I pay for it.
-_______-
Last year, we organized her a birthday party since she was leaving primary school and also because, her friends and her are going to different high schools, so we thought we let her have some good times with her friends. It was quite a big party complete with games with families and all her friends. She got a lot of birthday presents too. It was one memorable day for her.
This year was a different story. Her birthday fell last week, Nov 14th. My mom was at Indonesia having her follow up treatment over there. My sister, Uyul went with my mom.My another sister, Ateh was busy working and said she couldn't come home. My elder brother was away too on biz trip to Pahang. So it was just 4 of us at home.
Because of that, she wasn't expecting anything for her birthday and I was surprised too that she didn't even ask anything about it. At all. Actually, I have planned a small celebration for her but she had no idea.
I have all planned out. I have made a reservation on a karaoke room, bought a birthday cake, force my sister to come back. One thing left .. how do I take her to the karaoke without her suspecting anything? So...
We were playing Happy Family at home ( Ehem my sisters forced me to play with them okay ) and I was thinking how to start the conversation. I haven't finished thinking and it was just kinda slipped " I feel like going karaoke. It's been so long since the last time we went "
" What are you talking about? We just went there last 2 weeks " , Della said. (my cousin)
Crap. I should have told Della about the plan first. Now she's objecting it, So silly. So silly!
" Yeah yeah, but I'm so bored. Wanna go? "
" I don't have money. " , Della said. Ayin too. -___-
" I'll pay " , I said.
They look at me, look at each other, look at me again " Okay! " throwing the Happy Family cards at my face and run to their room to change.
These kids. Real nice. Sheesh!
We reached there and I went straight to the counter, asking for a room, pretending like a walk-in customer while really, I have advance booked the room. The guy told me the price and me taking out my purse ready to pay, but my sister was like " Eh, why are you taking a big room? I'm sorry, do you have a smaller room? " , Syuhada asked.
O-oh!
I shot the guy a look and he was like, " Oh sorry, small room are all fully booked. "
Phew! Way to think on your feet, cashier guy. And thank God I told them earlier that it was a surprise for my sister.
Let's cut the story 2 hours short.
Almost midnight, my sister Ateh called me that she reached the karaoke place with the cake. I ran out of the room looking for my sister, we light the cake, get all the present out of the car boot ... tip toed to the karaoke room where I left my sisters, slowly open the door and ... " Happy birthday to youuu, happy birthday to youuu " ,we sang her happy birthday and didn't expect next.
She cried. Awww my little sister cried. She's touched with the surprise that she cried!
Awww my sister is so emotional. I teared a little bit writing this. She's a big girl. My little girl grew up so fast :')
We wish you a very happy birthday and may all your dreams come true. Oh God, except for your Bieber dream and whatever that Korean guy's name.
Maybe we don't say this enough, but we hope that you know how much we love you. You are one person we could never say no to. Sigh you better be grateful to have us, your elder sisters. No matter how big you'll grow, you will always be our little sister.
P/S: That means, I still get to bully you, right?
