Sending my sister off to National Service brings up memories. It was 7 years ago and NS was only 3 years in. I was the 4th batch and back then, no SPM leavers wanted to spend 3 months of their finally-free-from-spm holidays at those camps. So, I was one of the unfortunate ones. There were a lot of Oh God why, why me kinda cry leading up to the day that I had to leave my house.
I was sent to Terengganu camp. Believe me I have tried to convince the doctor that I have critical allergies to mud I could die but the doctor just gave me a sarcastic smile and signed the medical paper anyway. Nobody loves me.
1st day there, all our handphones were taken. We were only allowed to use handphones during the weekend.
2nd day there, they assembled us all in the hall. They guys were called to line up to get their heads shaved and girls were thrown with scarfs and told to wear it on the spot.
3rd day there, they re-shuffle everyone's dorm. I've made one friend there and now we are separated by dorm.
4th day there, we were told to put on the Celoreng Uniform and learn how to march for a good 2 hours. From 2pm until 4pm under the shining hot sun.
5th day there, it was Friday and we get our handphones back for the weekends. Weekends in Terengganu is Friday and Saturday which I felt so weird! Got my phone back, immediately switch on, called my mom, my mom said hello, I cried my eyes out couldn't even mumble one word. There goes all the tears I hold for the past 5 days :(

Class started on the 2nd week and I started to cope well that I made a lot of friends there. Not just that, I was actually doing very good over there.
Yes, believe your eyes. I actually have rank there.
Other than the character building and the history/patriotism classes, there were a lot of survival activities we had to go through. We climb walls, fly with the rope like a tarzan, hiking, flying fox, sleep in a tent, create fire using two stones, find our own way in the woods with compass, so many things which .... just hit me that my sister would never survive! HAHAHAHAHA
Good luck there, sista! Don't worry you'll be fine *winks*
We'll be at home waiting for you to come back with real sunburn (line on your forehead because of the uniform flat cap, not pretty) and damaged skin. Trust me, I would know.
