turning 25 and freaking out

Twenty-five.

What is it with this age? Why is it so significant? I remember I used to laugh at my friends who panicked about turning 25 "Relax, you're only 25, you're still very young" .

And now, I am one of them.

I get how you felt now.

I'm turning 25 tomorrow.

Be calm, Azrah.

Stay calm.

Ahh screw it, OH MY GODDD I AM TOTALLY FREAKING OUT ABOUT TURNING 25!! I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT FEW MONTHS BEFORE BUT IT REALLY HIT ME TODAY THAT I WILL BE 25 TOMORROW!!

I really wondered how did other people handled their situation. What did they do to make themselves feel better about turning 25. So I google-d it (Yes I google everything). I found some self help blog that says, stop judging yourself, life is too short for bad thoughts, the fear of missing out is worse than actually missing out and all sorts of advice around that area. The more I read it .... the more anxious and depressed I become!! I was freaking out about one thing - turning 25, but now I am freaking out about 50 other things that I should be doing in my life. What's the purpose of even reading this?!! Gahhhhhhhh!

I told my freak outs about turning 25 to my colleagues, who are few years older than me. They looked at me, annoyed and told me to go away. Oops! I forgot this is sensitive to my 30 year-old girlfriends. Hehe

No really, did you freak out when you turned 25?

No la, relax. 25 is a good age. 25 is good. You don't start thinking things till you hit 30.

That's it?! Good?

Oh well, perhaps they are right. Perhaps 25 is still good.

I just needed that assurance that tomorrow, the world won't stop and ask me what the heck that I've done in my life. Have you gotten the bucks that you wanted? Have you bought a house yet? Have you lent a helping hand? When are you planning to get married? I remember you said you wanted to learn a foreign language? What about that dance class you wanted to sign up for? No? Woman, what did you do, really?

*gasp!

OH MY GODD I AM BACK TO FREAKING OUT. THERE IS SO MANY THINGS TO DO, I AM SIGNING OFF NOW. BYE!
