donuts

I have been with Nash long enough to know that relationship is not all sweet and lovey dovey. It really taught me about real relationship. Not the playing games kinda relationship and definitely not the romantic movie kinda relationship - knowing the unromantic him.

You know how people say don't expect a guy to pick up on subtle hints?

I never really experiment it and never find if it's actually true. I believe that communication is a key to every relationship and we both just usually say things to each other's face. Not that I want to try it on my boyfriend but yeah why not hehe! I didn't plan it guys, it just happened.

Yesterday, I was talking to Nash on the phone while driving home from work. Nash took a day off from work so he was just resting while replying work emails from home.

I said ... "I feel like eating donuts." I really really did. I was craving, you guys!

"Ohhh, so you wanna go buy?"

"There's Dunkin Donuts at the petrol station but ahh, I missed it. The next one is at Kajang Town and the traffic there is really bad at this time."

"Oh poor you .."

"Nevermind .."

He still didn't offer to buy for me. Conversation continues ..

"So what are you doing tonight?"

"I have futsal tonight at Rinching"

When I hear Rinching, I know that Nash would be passing by my area to get there and I know that his house is like 10mins away from Kajang Town! But I also know how important Futsal is that he would cancel any plans in a heartbeat. I know I have to play this right so I'm dropping more hints ...

"So, this Rinching place ... which way are you taking to go there? "

"The usual main road. The same one I go to your house."

"Oh you will be passing by my area later." ... like I even have to say hahaha.

"Yeah."

He still doesn't offer to buy me donuts. Gosh it is true that guys just don't pick up! Urghhh!

But suddenly ....

"Oh, do you want me to buy you donuts?"

I literally want to jump up and down dance like crazy and scream YES YESSS MY BOYFRIEND CAN PICK UP HINTS! But I was driving, so I kept my cool and asked him ...

"Really?! You would? What time is your futsal, would you be able to stop by to give it to me"

When I said that, I kinda get the sense that it just hit him that I was gonna ruin his futsal plans.

Slowly he reluctantly ... " I'll try .... "

Ish! Four years together I never ask you to do this before and you know I really really want donuts, why can't you do this for me just once. Just once. If you don't wanna be late for Futsal then get out of the house earlier la! Go buy me a donut, stop by my house, give it to me then you can go for Futsal. What's the big deal I don't understand.

Of course that was just between me and my head.

So I said ... "Futsal la tu. It's okay, you go futsal. I'll go get it myself later."

He didn't buy that line. Please I wouldn't have either. It's okay you go futsal? Said no girlfriend ever. But I was reaching my house already at that time so we hung up. That was the end of the conversation.

Honestly speaking, I wasn't disappointed or anything because I know how much he loves futsal and how hard he gets the chance now that he travels on biz trip a lot. So, I let it go.

But, later that night at about 9.40pm ... my phone rang ... "Baby, come out of the house! I'm outside! Faster!"

What's the rush, I was thinking. Is something wrong? So I ran outside and see him standing at the gate holding a box of Dunkin Donuts.

I looked at him and smile, and there was just so much love in my eyes at that very second ...

"Baby quick! I'm already late "

Way to kill the moment, dude ...

As a relationship continues and you get more into the everyday type of stuffs, you tend to lose that soul-digging momentum you once had in the beginning where you want to pick each other's brains and hearts.

But that's okay to me because ... my boyfriend is awesome! #xoxo #iheartyou
